GRADY-RAYAM PRIZE

The GRADY-RAYAM PRIZE In Vocal Performance Competition challenges vocalists to learn and perform arranged spirituals before a jury panel. Lower Division winners (juniors and seniors in high school) receive scholastic-assistance grants for college and spend a year in the role of an ambassador for classical singing and for the American Negro spiritual song. Upper Division winners (juniors and seniors in college) receive scholastic-assistance cash awards and featured artist recital performance opportunities. The application period for entry to our 2017 GRADY-RAYAM PRIZE Competition is closed. The competition event will take place on Saturday 11th February on the campus of Florida Southern College in Lakeland. The public is invited to attend and hear singers in both divisions as they compete before the jury panel. There is no admission cost. The MAULTSBY PRIZE In Piano Performance Competition assesses keyboard performance ability for pianists who prepare and perform music based on the Negro spiritual song tradition before a jury panel. Lower Division winners (juniors and seniors in high school) receive scholastic-assistance grants for college and spend a year in the role of an ambassador for keyboard performance and for the American Negro spiritual song. Upper Division winners (juniors and seniors in college) receive scholastic-assistance cash awards and featured artist recital performance opportunities. The application period for entry to our 2017 MAULTSBY PRIZE Competition is closed. The competition event will take place on Saturday 18th February on the campus of Bethune Cookman University in Daytona. The public is invited to attend and hear pianists in both divisions as they compete before the jury panel. There is no admission cost.
