Make a generous contribution online to support our Year’s-End Fundraising Appeal kicked off by members of the WHOLENOTE SOCIETY during a remarkable Recital & Reception Gathering event on Sunday 2nd December on the campus of First United Methodist Church in downtown Orlando. The evening affair featured the piano virtuosity of Alec Lerner (holder of the 2017 Jacqueline Butler Hairston Trophy for our CARL MAULTSBY PRIZE) and the emerging countertenor vocal prowess of Donovan Black (holder of the 2107 Errol Johnson Trophy for our GRADY-RAYAM PRIZE), with Dr. Barbara M. Bouie serving as Donovan’s collaborating accompanist.

Preserving America's slave-era Negro spiritual songs - tunes and rhythms from the past that infuse our present age with hope for the future - is at the heart of all we do.

Thrusting young artists into the future by coaching and mentoring them musically, nurturing and shaping them professionally, and supporting their scholastic goals financially is our passion.

Presenting first-class music through programs that uplift audience members, renew their spirits and rekindle their commitment to justice, equality and civility is our gift to the community.
